Well, Elmo Muskrat has done it. Who knows why…to open up server space, to purge evidence, I don’t know, but ALL media on Tweets pre-2014 has been deleted. Every gif, video, picture, anything with a t.co link is gone.

If you go to the search box and type in From:yourusername until:2014-01-01 Then click the “Media” tab, you will see the damage:

All those t.co links were once images, reactions, art, videos. BTW yes Gleeks, based on the timeline this means any and all tributes to Cory are permanently altered.

Ellis Munk will probably do another media purge soon so take my advice…archive your shit now, then hit da bricks…there are plenty of alternatives out there! (Or you know, just stay at Tumblr, you may not like their changes but boy they aren’t stinkers like what they do at X!)

Ooff I’m glad I never got into using twitter. What a hell hole.

@staff - who do I have to talk to to get Tumblr Live removed from my feed? Currently, every time I refresh it’s recommending me some woman who’s ass is fully on display. It’s really quite gross.

@staff - I would like to add my objections to this post. Tumblr Live is really rude and gross on a regular basis. Give people the option to opt in vs. forcing it on everyone.

Can you at least just have the colorful branding graphics for Gaming, Books, TV, etc like you had before for a short time?

Thanks guys! I’ve managed to snooze it. Still it’s a terrible - wish it was used for more wholesome things.

Glee fandom in the early 10s was magical because it was popular and had active subfandoms and juggernaut-level ships among all 3 of the shipping categories — slash, femslash and het — as well as a ton of non-shipping-focused fans, and every single one of those corners was full of the most insane, gas-leak discourse and drama. We had shipping morality fights before that became a thing in every fandom, we had people overly fixated on the actor’s’ personal lives and harassing their irl romantic partners, we had TJLC-level conspiracy theories. The works. It was the dark origin story for so many longtime fandom villains on this site like birdlawyer. It’s so much fun to reminisce about it with someone who was in a different corner of the fandom you were in (like I do with @quinnmorgendorffer who was primarily in the M/M corner while I was in the F/F one) and you can compare notes and learn about new levels of fandom insanity that you could never have imagined, and share your own war stories if you have ‘em. It truly was a formative experience. If any of my followers are also former Gleeks feel free to reblog this with your own wild tales of this terrible show that ate so many brains

Makes me a little nostalgic (even if I’m really not)

Sometimes I have the urge to write up all the insane stories just to remember that I lived through it all. Lol
